Implementation of technical supervision of the public blood management agencies of Federal District and its effects on hemovigilance activities

Objective: To analyze the impact of implementation technical supervision in Transfusion Agencies (TAs) public blood network hospitals Federal District (DF) on hemovigilance activities, from 2009 to 2019. Methods: Retrospective descriptive cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach. Two secondary databases were used: one information Reactions (TRs) registered System Notifications Health Surveillance (Notivisa) and another number transfusions performed, reported Hemotherapy Production Information (Hemoprod). The each TA was separated into two periods: “without supervisor” “with supervisor”. Results: 1,096 TRs 574,708 performed. Considering only confirmed, probable possible TRs, increased 981, which 85.43% immediate, Allergic (37.92%) Febrile non-hemolytic reaction (33.74%). More than 80% mild, however, 2 deaths attributed transfusion (0.21%). They occurred predominantly women (56.27%) between 25 35 years (16.50%). Outpatient (22.43%) hospital sector highest occurrence Concentrated Red Blood Cells being component most involved these records (68.40%).
